My hating of this in 2013 was a bit too over the top, but in saying that I still really despise this. It sounds like there is nothing original in this at all, nothing. The mostly annoying beat sounds like it has been recycled from a previous LMFAO song. Vocally and lyrically it's pretty shit as well. Just sounds like a poor mans LMFAO track, which is worrying because LMFAO sucked enough already. Very annoying that his X Factor performance got this to #1.

This is indeed ridiculous :P<br><br>This is actually so generic - it's like he recycled parts of his other tracks to create this. And listen to the beat drop on 'Ain't A Party' by David Guetta & Glowinthedark.<br><br>It suppose the video is somewhat amusing (like 'Champagne Showers' and 'Party Rock Anthem', but not as good.)

Honestly I can't even bother being mad about it. I have to recall why I like seeing things I like move towards the top of the charts over things I don't. The first reason that comes to mind is exposure and legacy. The lower down the chart you go, the smaller the percentile of people who will bother to listen to/pay proper attention to is.<br><br>So my point is that this hit #1 on the charts and went on to not even make it look like a fluke, but who cares? Everyone knows this is a joke anyway. Obviously he's just quickly canned together a whole bunch of sounds to make the song as obnoxious and therefore noticeable as possible. I'm yet to see anyone make out like this is well crafted and objectively good in any way, so this isn't really a target for my disdain.<br><br>Also I feel like I've built up an immunity to this sort of thing anyway. The whole 'I would rather *ridiculous superlative* than listen to this song' thing is way overdone, and I call BS on every single one of them. It's just three and a half minutes of vapid music, who cares? |
